SONs Endorses a Few Candidates

Although SONs as a group, and the Executive Committee, more specifically, have taken no outright stand on ANY election position, we do have personal opinions. These are the opinions of the Executive Committee and are simply passed along to the Group to be helpful, if you are undecided. The candidates we have chosen to highlight are all challenging incumbents and we feel that the SONs membership may benefit from the time we have taken to get to know them. No candidate has asked for our endorsement. We respect everyone’s right to make whatever choice they feel is appropriate and we encourage everyone to vote next Tuesday.

That said we would like to explain that our choice for District 8, while a write-in, is very well known celebrity. What you probably do not know is that his environmental credentials far outstrip the high-density-loving incumbent. Click here to see our choice in D8 attacking Phragmites.

Terry Elliott tells it like it is

Terry Elliott is one of the challengers for Supervisor in District One in Chincoteague, whom we endorse. SONs became involved in the truth-telling effort to set the facts before the voters about how Ms. Thornton was using scare tactics to stir up fear, uncertainty, and doubt about three recent very important studies in County. It seems that all she has been doing is looking out for Ms. Thornton as shown by Terry Elliott in his in-depth expose. We know that many voters in Chincoteague have had enough of her, since the handwriting is on the wall for all to see.
